DC vs KKR: WATCH - Andre Russell Smokes Mukesh Kumar Into The Night Sky For A 109M Six

Delhi Capitals were all over The Kolkata Knight Riders in the second match of the day in the Indian Premier League 2023, if you remove Mukesh Kumar’s 20th over from the first innings. While Capitals conceded just 108 runs in the first 19 overs, Andre Russell however changed the flow of the game smacking 19 runs off Mukesh’s final over helping his side get to 127 runs on the board.
After missing out to smash the first delivery from the 19th over into the stands, Andre Russell did not repeat the same mistake twice as Mukesh went for a yorker which missed its mark giving Andre Russell enough time to open his stance and neatly lifted the ball for a maximum.

The third delivery of the over is surely going to be a highlight reel from the match, no matter the result as Mukesh Kumar tried to cramp Andre Russell for space but he missed the yorker yet again as Andre took the opportunity to smash the ball 109m over mid-wicket leaving the ball sailing in the night sky.
Andre Russell was not done with just two sixes as the batter read Mukesh Kumar’s slower as he smashed the ball over backward square leg to complete a trio of sixes. Mukesh Kumar who had given away just 15 runs in his first 3 overs, seemed completely out of place in the third over as Andre Russell was all over the place.

Thanks to Andre Russell’s hattrick of sixes the Knight Riders were able to post 127 runs on the board at the loss of 8 wickets in the designated overs. Jason Roy was the only other batter apart from Andre Russell who managed to get the scoreboard ticking with no one apart from the duo and Mandeep Singh even managed to cross the double-figure mark for the team.

While the Knights do have managed to get 127 runs on the board this could not be enough if the team fail to get some early breakthroughs in the contest. Delhi Capitals in this scenario look poised to earn their first win of the season.
