Delhi Capitals have released five players ahead of the auction for next year’s Indian Premier League (IPL). After reaching playoffs in the previous edition, Delhi Capitals have retained most of their players for the upcoming season.

They left out 3 overseas players and a couple of Indian players from their previous squad. Surprisingly, they left out Colin Munro, who is one of the few batsmen to score three centuries in T20I format of the game. Alongside Munro, they have released Chris Morris and Colin Ingram, who was bought for a whopping price in the last auction.

Chris Morris was retained ahead of IPL 2019:

Delhi Capitals had retained Chris Morris in the previous season while Colin Ingram made his way into the side after receiving a massive paycheck of INR 6.4 Crores. Despite being a regular player in the Playing XI, they never really delivered match-winning performance for the team. Apart from these two, Delhi have also parted ways with Hanuma Vihari, who attracted bids after scoring heavily in domestic cricket. Alongside him, Delhi Capitals decided to leave Ankush Bains.

Prior to releasing the players, Delhi Capitals have also traded a number of players. They bagged the services of Ajinkya Rahane and Ravichandran Ashwin for the upcoming season and left out Mayank Markande, who made his way into the side after being traded by Mumbai Indians in return for Sherfane Rutherford. Rahul Tewatia is the other player, who was traded by the team.
