How often would you see a batsman heading towards the crease without his batting glove? Well, rare comical stuff took place in the ongoing Deodhar Trophy game between India A and India C. The young Ankit Bawne forgot his gloves while walking to take his guard at the crease. However, he was quick in noticing it.

The right-handed batsman was heading into the crease in the slog overs when Dinesh Karthik was returning to the dugout. During the course, he forgot his right-hand glove thus being the victim of commentators fun.

To make things look bleak for the youngster, he returned to the dugout by registering a golden duck. He pulled Vijay Shankar’s delivery straight to Ravi Samarth to make the things worse for himself.

Collective batting effort puts 293 on the board for India A:

Winning the toss, India A asked Ajinkya Rahane-led India C to bowl first. Justifying the decision, both the openers batted beautifully to register 99-run partnership for the first wicket.

However, unfortunately, they both perished after scoring individual fifties. The number three batsman, Nitish Rana carried his fine form to score 68 before handing a simple catch to Abhinav Mukund off Rahul Chahal.

However, Dinesh Karthik got the decent start of 32 but failed to carry on while Kedar Jadhav smashed a brilliant unbeaten 41* off 25 balls to end the innings on high. Also, Vijay Shankar bagged three wickets to his name for India C.

Shubman Gill fighting it for India C:

In reply to the chase, India C lost Ajinkya Rahane early in the innings. Meanwhile, Mukund and Gill tried to balance the ship, but the former failed to read Mulani thus leaving Gill in the middle. The stylish southpaw, Suresh Raina too walked back quickly, as he was run out by Anmolpreet Singh.
