Australia’s star women’s cricketer, Ellyse Perry will now undergo a surgery that will keep her away from the cricket field for at least six months from now.
Perry pulled off a hamstring injury in the ongoing ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020 during a game against Sri Lanka while attempting a run-out dismissal. Perry is one of the greatest assets for the Aussie women’s as they chase a fifth title at the Twenty20 World Cup.

The all-rounder Ellyse will be out of Australia’s upcoming limited-overs tour of South Africa, beginning next Sunday, and also not have the chance – to appear in the upcoming women’s Indian Premier League (IPL) exhibition games in May.
Ellyse Perry Ruled Out For Six Months Due To Injury:
“The timing has been good, I still get to come tomorrow and next week I’ll (have surgery),” Perry said at the MCG on Saturday, reports cricket.com.au.
“From my perspective, I’ve had the most incredible run, I’ve been very fortunate with injury for a long period of time,” she added.

Australia Eye A Fifth World Cup Title:
The Australian Women will take on India in the final of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. The game will take place on March 08 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

India have been the most dominant team of the tournament and have won four out of as many games that they have played. Their semi-final against England was washed out due to rain and they progressed — to the final by finishing higher in the points table in the group stage.
Australia has been the most successful team in the tournament’s history and have won four titles till date.
In this year’s edition, they have won all the games save the opening group match against India.
