England and Wales Cricket Board (RCB) has replaced injured Tom Curran with Dawid Malan for the first T20I against India. The fast bowler is yet to recover from the side strain.

However, the right-hander is expected to be fit for the 2nd and 3rd T20I match of the Vitality series.

Thus, it would be a golden opportunity for southpaw batsman if he gets his chance in the playing XI.

Meanwhile, England had announced their ODI squad on Friday. Ben Stokes who had injured his hamstring got recalled in the 14-member ODI squad.

Stokes had to miss out on the second Test match against Pakistan, and he is sitting on the sidelines since then.

England will aim to continue their limited-overs dominance against the Indian team. The Eoin Morgan-led team will kick-start their T20I series on July 3 which will be played at Old Trafford, Manchester.

The first ODI will be played at Trent Bridge where the new record of 481 runs was smashed against Australia.

England Cricket took to their Twitter account to announce the news. Their post read as, “Dawid Malan has been added to our IT20 squad for the match at Emirates Old Trafford. He will cover for Tom Curran, who is still recovering from a side strain. Tom is expected to be fit for the 2nd & 3rd matches in the Vitality IT20 Series”.
