Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra feels it will be a miracle if the visitors go to win the five-match Test series against England from 2-0 down.

Meanwhile, the team from the subcontinent will be brimming with confidence after the dominant win over England by 203 runs. Virat Kohli & Co will have to win or draw this game to keep this series alive. India will be desperate to make the series 2-2 beating England at Southampton.

However, Aakash Chopra has his doubts over India’s chances and feels it will be a miracle if they can win the series from 0-2 down.

If India are able to win this series after being 2-0 down, it will be a huge miracle. Yes, it was done by Australia in the 1930s, but it is not going to be easy to do that this time. We are high on confidence with that single victory in the last game, but the reality is that England has won two matches in this series including that dominant victory in the Lord’s Test,” Chopra said to India Today.

Chopra, meanwhile, speaking on the momentum took up England’s case in the series to counter the momentum advantage. Joe Root & Co with two wins on their back suffered a humiliating defeat at Trent Bridge.

After the dominant victory at Lord’s, England certainly came into the third Test with the momentum. However, as the game progressed the momentum completely shifted into India’s favour, which suggests that momentum is an unfaithful thing in this series. It would be difficult for India to completely outplay England in Southampton,” Aakash Chopra explained.

Virat Kohli will look to continue his rich form, who is currently the highest run-scorer with 440 runs. Furthermore, he also has two hundred and two half-centuries each.

Meanwhile, England skipper Joe Root have opted to bat first at Southampton. India have fielded an unchanged XI while the hosts have made two changes going into this game.
