Former England skipper Michael Vaughan has given his scoreline of 3-1 for hosts Three Lions against India in the five-match Test series.

Earlier, Vaughan predicted a 2-1 series victory in favour of England in both One-day Internationals and the Twenty20 Internationals respectively. His prediction came true in the ODI’s. However, India took the honours in the T20 format. It will be pretty interesting to see whether Vaughan’s prediction would come true or not this time around.

Michael Vaughan makes the prediction in favour of England:

It is purely a bias prediction without a doubt. India has played some exceptional brand of cricket in the recent past. Hence, they stand an equal chance with England to come out triumphant in the series.

In a video shared on his Instagram handle, Vaughan made the prediction. He further predicted Stuart Broad and Joe Root to be the leading wicket-taker and run-scorer for the hosts.

From the visitors, he picked Ishant Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane to be the leading performers.

India doesn’t have a great record in England. They have only won six out of the 57 Test matches they have played in England so far.

In the process, they have also managed to win three-Test series. The first one came in 1971 under the captaincy of Ajit Wadekar. They replicated the feat in 1986 under the leadership of Kapil Dev. It was under Rahul Dravid that they won a series in England most recently. It was back in 2007.

It will be a highly intense series, to say the least. India has been the No. 1 team in the longest format for quite a while. They played quite brilliantly in South Africa despite losing the series.

The bowling line-up managed to bag all the 60 wickets which helped India to get into winning positions. However, the killer punch wasn’t quite and they ended up losing the series by a 2-1 margin.

India has a great variety of fast bowlers on this tour who has the ability to dismantle any batting order. They also have three quality spinners in their ranks. Hence, it won’t be an easy task for the home team to trounce the visitors.
