India produces great all-round performance
Early in the day, England managed to score 159/8 on the board in their allotted 20 overs. Courtesy a spell of 5/24 by Kuldeep Yadav, England couldn’t post a commendable total despite a brisk start.
Jason Roy and Jos Buttler got off to a good start. However, it wasn’t to be, as Umesh Yadav provided the first breakthrough. Kuldeep then ran through the English batting order and bagged five wickets.
The visitors lost Shikhar Dhawan pretty early. However, it was KL Rahul who ensured India was never behind the chase. He tormented with the English bowling line-up.
In a single over of Liam Plunkett, Rahul struck a couple of fours and sixes each. Wonderful shots came flowing from his bat, and there was no stopping him. He leapt in the air after reaching a sensational century, and it showed what it meant to him.
The victory will boost India’s chances and confidence as the tour progresses.
