ENG vs IND 2018, 1st T20I: Records which Tumbled in Manchester

Team India produced a stunning performance in the opening T20I at Old Trafford against England to go 1-0 up in the three-match series.
It was an exceptional all-round effort by the visitors which helped them coast to an eight-wicket victory with ten balls remaining.
In the bowling department, it was magical Kuldeep who wrecked the English havoc in England’s middle-order. He made them dance to his tunes and returned with exceptional figures of 5/24 in his allotted four overs.
His scalps included the likes of Alex Hales, Eoin Morgan, Jonny Bairstow, Joe Root and Jos Buttler.
Meanwhile, in the batting department, it was a terrific century from the blade of KL Rahul which helped India chase the total down with ten deliveries to spare.
KL carried on from where he left in the IPL and smashed ten fours and five sixes during his unbeaten knock of 101 off 54 deliveries.

There were several new records which got broken during the match. Here is a list of all the stats for the game,
- It was KL Rahul’s 1st century for India across formats since he smashed a brilliant 199 against England back in 2016. Despite not getting a century, Rahul has batted quite fluently and has scored 14 fifties in 35 innings across formats. In the Test series against Australia in India, Rahul made six half-centuries on a trot.
- Following his knock of 101, Rahul has a T20I average of 55.91 in T20I’s. It is the highest for any batsmen who have played at least more than ten innings in the shortest format.
- Rahul became only the 2nd Indian batsman to smash two T20I centuries. His earlier century came against the Windies at Florida. Rohit Sharma is the other Indian to score two T20I centuries.
- Virat Kohli became the fastest to both 1,000 and 2,000 T20I runs. While his 1000th run came in his 27th innings, his 2000th run came on Tuesday in his 56th innings.
- The men in Blue after winning the opening T20I became the 1st team to win seven consecutive T20I on three different occasions.
- The Men in Blue became only the 2nd team after the Proteas to produce a five-wicket haul and a century in the same T20I match. Kuldeep Yadav produced magical spell, and Rahul smashed a brilliant century which helped India storm their way to a victory.
- The other occasion when it happened was for South Africa when Morne Van Wyk scored a century, and David Weise bagged a five-wicket haul.
