Of late, it seems like Adil Rashid has become a red-hot topic in the cricket world. Ever since his delivery to Virat Kohli, Adil Rashid has become a star in the country which furtherly paved his way to the Test side as well.

Meanwhile, his inclusion in the side isn’t served tastier to the former stalwarts of England. A few of them felt it was a backstabbing to County Cricket while the all-time great, Nasser Hussain feels it is a huge kick in County’s teeth.

It just doesn’t sit comfortably with me – Nasser Hussain

The classic commentator added he isn’t happy to stick to the decision made by the selectors. Hussain feels it is a kick in the teeth not only for the county cricket but also those two spinners who have been left out.

Nasser points out that the inclusion of Adil Rashid based on white-ball performance isn’t a problem for him. But, his decision to leave the red-ball format only to concentrate on the limited-overs game is a problem.

”England fans turning up at Edgbaston next week wanting to see their side beat India are not going to be worried about the bigger picture or county politics. They just want their team to win. So I understand why England have selected Rashid. It just doesn’t sit comfortably with me,” Nasser Hussain wrote in his column.

”His selection is a massive kick in the teeth for county cricket, and a massive kick in the teeth for any spinner who has been trying his nuts off to get into the England side or, in the case of Jack Leach and Dominic Bess, to stay in it. I feel for those two guys,” he added

Buttler too earned call through white ball performance, but he never left red-ball:

Nasser went on to explain it by saying Jos Buttler has been the same sort of inclusion which was based on his glorious white-ball form. But, Hussain feels the difference in Buttler never left out red-ball format.

”Don’t label me a fuddy-duddy. As the selection of Jos Buttler showed, you can get into the Test side with your white-ball form. I have no problem with that at all,” Hussain wrote in his column to Daily Mail.

”Neither do I like to pigeon-hole people as white-ball cricketers or Test cricketers. But the difference between Buttler and Rashid is that Buttler never made himself unavailable for red-ball cricket. Rashid did — and that for me is the crux of the matter,” Hussain mentioned.

However, Nasser Hussain is not at all happy with the selection of Adil Rashid on the side. He wants English selectors to respect the County cricket where the players have been born and fought for England.
