After an intriguing battle at Edgbaston last week, the convoy now moves to the Lord’s Cricket Ground for the second of the five-match Test series between India and England. Here, we are with the weather report of the game.
Meanwhile, the game swung from one end to other, as the hosts held nerves to take it home by 31 runs. There were plenty of positives for both the sides coming out of that match.
England, therefore, will have the confidence and advantage of playing at Lord’s but they will not write off India. The visitors almost came close to winning it at Birmingham and are capable of doing the same at Lord’s. Moreover, India won their last counter at Lord’s, back in 2014.
However, all is not rosy for the batsmen from either side. Barring Virat Kohli, Joe Root, and Jonny Bairstow, other batsmen struggled to tackle some quality swing bowling. An improvement on the batting front will be on both sides’ agenda for this game.

England will be without their premier all-rounder Ben Stokes, who has a court hearing to attend. Bowling all-rounder Chris Woakes has been named as Stokes’ replacement.
Furthermore, the 20-year-old Ollie Pope will make his debut at the iconic Lord’s, as he replaced Dawid Malan, who was going through a lean patch.
The India captain, Kohli scored 200 out of the 436 runs that India amassed during the match, and they had lost half their side by 100 in both innings. The batsmen need to come good.
Weather Forecast
The Lord’s ground staff has worked hard to maintain a tinge of green on the pitch despite the heatwave in England. The days of the Test match itself are likely to be cooler with the odd shower around.
The conditions underfoot are likely to be similar to Edgbaston. The temperatures will hover around 30 degree Celsius with little clouds floating over the ground. However, it will eventually be clear, and the sun will come out bright.
The team winning the toss is likely to bowl first. The pitch is expected to assist seam and spin bowling in tandem. Therefore, India might get a little advantage with spinners coming in the game.
Here are some more details of the weather report:
The second Test of the five-match series begins on August 9th at Lord’s.
