Former India skipper, Sourav Ganguly is confident that India has the pedigree to chase down a target of over 300 in the fourth Test against England at Southampton.

Meanwhile, England is 233 runs ahead with two wickets still in hand. Jos Buttler continued his excellent form along with Sam Curran, who has been the find of this season. Mohammed Shami proved to be the golden boy for Virat Kohli & Co making the ball talk. He removed Adil Rashid in the last over, as the umpires called it a day.

Previously, Jasprit Bumrah provided the initial breakthrough for India in the morning session at the Ageas Bowl. The England openers continued their poor form, as Ishant Sharma removed Moeen Ali, who saw a promotion in the batting order. KL Rahul was excellent in the slip cordon once again.

Keaton Jennings and Joe Root tried to steady the innings after two quick wickets, but Shami was on fire. He removed Jennings (36) before removing Root (48) courtesy a brilliant direct hit from Shami.

He returned after lunch to castle Jonny Bairstow’s stumps in the first ball after the lunch break – to rattle England batting before Ben Stokes and Buttler started recovery for England.
