Team India will be keen to balance the ledger when they square off against the host England in the fourth of the five-match Test series starting on August 30 (Thursday) at Southampton. Here we are with the weather forecast.
Meanwhile, the visitors will be brimming with confidence coming from the back of a win at Trent Bridge. They will be desperate for a win or at least draw to keep the series alive.
In a bid to do that, India skipper Virat Kohli is likely to field the same playing XI from the last Test, for the first time in his captaincy career. Rishabh Pant, who made his debut in the last Test, impressed one and all and will retain his spot in the playing XI.
On the other, England have brought back Moeen Ali and Sam Curran back for the fourth Test while Ollie Pope and Chris Woakes misses out. Moeen bounced back into the playing XI with an eight-wicket haul and a double-century for Worcestershire last week. Furthermore, Curran also did a great in the opening Test bagging the player-of-the-match award.
Southampton is set to host what could well be called the Moving Test in the series – England win, the deal is sealed; India win, the fifth Test assumes proportions of a cracker.
Weather Forecast
There is rain in the air in Southampton, but not too much; there might be interruptions, but not serious ones. However, it is likely to largely be good for Test cricket. It swings nicely at Ageas Bowl but batsmen will hope to get in and cash in on the favourable conditions.
The temperature will vary from 15-17 degrees Celsius and will be cloudy throughout the day. Furthermore, with the wind blowing in the ground, the seamers will get assists early on. Thus, both the skipper will be keen to win the toss and bowl first.
England is 2-1 ahead of India in the ongoing Test series.
