England vs India 2018, 4th Test: Twitterati Trolls 'Poor-Performer' Hardik Pandya

The thing with Hardik Pandya in Tests has always been his inconsistency. One day, he delivers the man of the match performance, on the other day, he completely looks like a club cricketer.
In the third Test at Trentbridge, Hardik Pandya was the star for India with the ball and bat. But, against the same opposition, he showed poor skills at The Ageas Bowl, Southampton to see the wrong side of the things.
Hardik Pandya contributed four runs in the 4th Test –
The all-rounder had fared pretty poorly for India at Southampton. In the first innings, he scored four runs with his willow before getting dismissed to Moeen Ali. It was the best chance for him to show up his skills to bat alongside Cheteshwar Pujara but he failed, again.
It would have been a different scenario for India, had Hardik Pandya hung with Pujara in the first innings. However, he got a golden opportunity in the second innings to guide the team to victory while chasing 245.
He got Ajinkya Rahane at the non-striker’s end who was knocking the ball beautifully. Pandya was sent ahead of Rishabh Pant to stay in the middle for India. In the end, he once again failed to utilise the opportunity.
Hardik Pandya walked back with a duck in his kitty. Ben Stokes got better off him to get the outside edge that was nicely picked by Joe Root in the slip cordon. All in all, it ended up giving a bitter result to India.
However, ahead of the series, a lot has been expected from the India all-rounder who was in submissive form. Apart from the third Test, he never lived up to the expectations for the team.
However, it would be interesting to see how he boosts himself in the upcoming Test for India.

What is hardik pandya's strongest strength? For example if you take away bowling from stokes he still can play as specialist batsman and vice versa, woakes if you take away batting from him can still play as pure bowler. Where does pandya stand in tests??? Not convincing yet

With the series lost, best opportunity to rejig the batting. Bring in Prithvi Shaw for Shikhar Dhawan and Karun Nair, only because he was the preferred back up middle order bat, for Hardik Pandya.

Hardik Pandya has played all test matches in England. He is in team as a Batsman, Bowler or Showstopper ? ?

India played 8 Tests this year, so far. Only player to feature in all the 8 is Hardik Pandya. That's a serious backing a player can get, by Kohli's standards.

Once upon a time India's No. 6 batsman was the legendary Laxman. Now, it is Hardik Pandya. This inglorious fall of the batting middle order is unacceptable. Bahut ho gaya nautanki!

Hardik Pandya is not and should not be a batsmen at 6. He doesn't have the temperament nor the technique for it. He may play well at that position in a one off match doesn't mean he is an ideal no. 6 #INDvENG

Whenever somebody says, Hardik Pandya is today's Kapil Dev of test matches.. pic.twitter.com/K7gAbzTMJC

Stokes, Woakes, Morris, Philander, moeen Ali, Angelo Mathews, Mitchell Marsh, Sam curran, shakib Al Hassan are all rounders other test teams have.
Don't think hardik pandya fits above any of these players & #TeamIndia are fascinated of #HardikPandya as a great AR #ENGvIND— Left Arm Chinaman (@leftarmchinamen) September 2, 2018
Hardik Pandya is like the parody account of Jacques Kallis #ENGvIND

Hardik Pandya stop playing cricket start playing dandiya! U r better at wielding a dandiya than a cricket bat!
— sanjiv batra (@batrasanjiv) September 3, 2018
Hardik Pandya is looking useless except the 5 wicket haul in the 3rd test! I'd rather have a proper batsmen play instead! His technique is awful to survive in England. @bhogleharsha agree?

@vikrantgupta73 we will loose Australia series also..100%. with this team no way we are going to win overseas. Hardik pandya is the most ordinary test cricketer world has seen. Out of 7 overseas test he has contributed only twice.with this ratio next contribution will be next yr

Series loss 4 reasons:
1.hardik pandya- as an all-rounder
2.openers- couldn't deliver their starts into big total
3.ashwin- your no.1 bowler's fitness
4.captain-over confidence @vikrantgupta73 @Ateet_Sharma— Anurag Kashyap (@AnuragK84144167) September 3, 2018
Time to kick Hardik Pandya off from test team. Useless @BCCI @MichaelVaughan @bhogleharsha

I am not sure why commentators start criticizing pujara, ashwin, rahane, vijay with such intensity and that too consistently on their one bad match or one bad series but they will never criticize KL Rahul or Hardik pandya wirh similar intensity or consistency
