Ever since Adil Rashid’s magical delivery to Virat Kohli, he has been the headlines often than not. Few called for his return to Test fold while few went against his selection citing various reasons. Meanwhile, the wicketkeeper-batsman of England, Jonny Bairstow joins the serious debate

However, he stood for his teammate saying that he is pretty excited to see Rashid in the action.

It is an exciting call-up for him, I am really excited: Jonny Bairstow

The stylish right-handed batsman mentions the criticism going on in the country against his inclusion. He feels that everyone is behind his back which makes Adil’s presence more exciting.

Apart from it, Bairstow added that he is very close to Rashid and shared the dressing room as well.

Bairstow wants Adil Rashid to execute his skills to the perfection in order to answer all the criticism.

“Quite a while we have been playing together and sharing a dressing room and the odd fish and chips now and then, With everyone getting behind him, everyone is really excited. You guys saw him in that one-day series so hopefully, we can emulate some of the skills he showed and put on a show there,” Cricbuzz quoted Bairstow as saying.

“He obviously bowled really really nice in the one-dayers and the way the white ball has been coming out of his hand, it is an exciting call-up for him. He is delighted and I am really excited for him,” said Bairstow.

I think Adil Rashid has matured a lot: Jonny

The flamboyant batsman furtherly added that Rashid had become more experienced now compared to his previous stint. He added that he doesn’t like to give a hype too much but hopeful of Adil doing well.

“I think he has matured a lot. You can see that in the way that he is starting, the way he is bowling in the Powerplays in one-day cricket. And I don’t think to hype up too much, yes he hasn’t played red ball cricket, he has played white ball cricket is too big a thing. If he is landing his leg-spinner, if he is landing his googly he just has to do it a few more times other than the 10 overs he has been bowling,” Bairstow concluded.

All in all, including Jonny Bairstow, the whole England country, and the Indian fans are waiting for the first Test eagerly. With both the teams carrying a bit of rivalry, an exciting contest is on its way.
