England ace pacer James Anderson is one of the most lethal bowlers in world cricket at the moment. In the ongoing five-match Test series against India, Anderson delivers goods for hosts. But the 36-year-old has a funny take on his colleague Alastair Cook, who also happens to be the most successful batsman for the Three Lions in Tests. Cook announced his international retirement before the Kennington Oval Test.

The pacer from Lancashire has 559 Test wickets. He is England’s most successful bowler in the most extended format of the game.

In the latest video footage, Anderson was seen congratulating Cook on a fantastic career. He then goes on to troll his former skipper by saying that the opener is a ‘bore off’. The pacer took another dig as he said: ” Cook should’ve retired two years ago”.

Tribute clip for Cook goes viral:

It was all part of a tribute video made by England’s Professional Cricketers’ Association (PCA). The clip went viral within hours. Cook is yet to react to all the congratulatory texts and the light-hearted mocking.

The opener will leave a massive mark as he achieved a lot of feats on the way to 161 Test matches. He led his country for four years, won the Ashes on four occasions.

Cook is also the longest-serving skipper for England with 59 games. He will leave the arena as the sixth highest run-getter in Test cricket. Having made his debut way back in 2006, the rock-solid batter scored 1,2254 runs at an average of 44.88.

The ongoing 5th Test match is Cook’s 159th consecutive match in the longest form of cricket. This is the longest streak in the history of Test cricket and will take some effort to topple the same.

At The Oval, Alastair Cook made 71 in the first innings and took a fresh guard on a penultimate day for England against India.
