We came across the debates on a form of distinct professionals, but in the latest scenario, it was the debate on a specific delivery. However, it was unique stuff from Jasprit Bumrah that surprised Ian Botham and Michael Holding. However, Harbhajan Singh clarifies them with the shred of an evidence after Bumrah bamboozled Keaton Jennings.

Earlier, Botham and Holding remarked that it was an unbelievable delivery by Bumrah. Later, felt that Bumrah developed that skill in the past week as they never witnessed him doing that.

Reminiscing about the trait, he asked both the individuals to look at Bumrah’s inswinger to Chris Gayle with the white-ball in ICC Twenty20 World Cup 2016.

However, Harbhajan admitted Bumrah didn’t use it on a regular basis.

”You guys have a very poor cricket memory. Go and take a look at the delivery with which he got Chris Gayle in the 2016 T20 World Cup semifinal. When he was bowling with the white ball, he always had that delivery, just that he didn’t use it too frequently,” Harbhajan told TOI on Holding and Ian Botham’s comments.

Jasprit Bumrah was the pick of the bowlers for India:

Despite losing the toss, India ended up bagging the first two sessions of the game courtesy Bumrah. He got rid of Keaton Jennings with beauty and then got the edge of Jonny Bairstow’s willow.

Bumrah was well backed by Ishant Sharma and Hardik Pandya to dent England furtherly before Sam Curran, and Moeen Ali showed some resilience. Bumrah finished with three wickets while Ravichandran Ashwin, Mohammed Shami and Ishant picked a couple.

All in all, India bagged the first day of the Southampton Test after the exceptional performances from the bowlers. If not the effort from Curran and Ali, India would have been already a mile away from England in the race.

It would be interesting to see what would be the response of Ian Botham and Michael Holding, who are the veterans of the gentleman’s game.
