Hardik Pandya like other Team India players faced a lot of heat due to his poor performance, particularly in the ongoing Test series in the United Kingdom He could not justify his tag so far on this overseas tour. The all-rounder played as a third pacer. However, he could not leave any impact from the end. Although, his England counterpart Moeen Ali backs the promising player.

Pandya could not fulfil the expectations of his skipper, Virat Kohli. Although he played good innings in the second essay, it was not long enough to guide India towards victory.

The English cricketer, Nick Compton recently tweeted some harsh words on the Indian all-rounder. He continued with the same words as shared by Michael Holding on Pandya.

“The [Indian] attack has not been the right balance. Apparently, they are playing Hardik Pandya as an all-rounder to help out with the bowling. When he bowls he isn’t as effective as he should be. If he was a good batsman, if he was getting runs – 60s, 70s, not even regular hundreds – at the number at which he bats and then he bowls and gets two or three wickets, happy, hallelujah. Happy with that. But he is not getting the amount of runs that can then allow him to get a wicket or two in the Test match. That doesn’t work,” Holding said to ESPN Cricinfo.

Moeen Ali supported Hardik Pandya:

Despite the criticism of former great, the English all-rounder Moeen Ali came in support of him.

Moeen Ali said that it is harsh from Nick Compton. He Tweeted that Hardik Pandya is a ‘good cricketer’.

Compton wrote, “Overrated.. can’t bat and his bowling is ok at best!” On which, Ali replied,”Bit harsh. Good cricketer.”

England will face India in the third Test at Trent Bridge on August 18.
