Makarand Waingankar, an ex-cricket administrator and columnists now, tweeted ten years ago on the talent of Prithvi Shaw.
The 18-year old, Prithvi Shaw in his interview in 2017 admitted he feels nervous in participating in the Indian Premier League.

However, Delhi Daredevils spent a hefty amount on him just a few months after to attain his services for the IPL 2018. Prithvi Shaw got a whopping amount of 1.2 crores, six times more than his base price.
The right-hander scored 245 runs in nine games, a decent total for his first season in the Indian Premier League.
However, Prithvi Shaw got his maiden Test call following his impressive performance in the national arena. In Under-19 cricket, he was the critical member of World Cup winning team in 2018 besides being a skipper.

Along with him, batsman Hanuma Vihari got his first India call-up as well. Both the players have replaced Murali Vijay and Kuldeep Yadav respectively.
Raju Pathak, Prithvi Shaw’s coach from Rizvi Springfield School never doubted his talent.
” Bachcha hii yaad aata hai Prithvi toh. What he has done in the last six months or a year has earned him this place in the team,” he says.
The youngster from Mumbai got the limelight after scoring a quickfire knock of 546 runs in 330 balls in a Harris Shield Fixture. The second time, he grabbed the headlines was when he scored 548-run knock in Ranji Trophy. Even in his Duleep Trophy debut, he slammed a ton for India Red.
Prithvi Shaw got a chance to showcase his skills for Board’s President XI against New Zealand in October last year. Although New Zealand had the likes of bowlers like Trent Boult, Shaw scored a brisk knock of 66 off 80 balls. The Kiwi mainstay felt surprised by this knock from an 18-year old guy.
“He played very nicely. I think the ball swung around nicely at the start, and it didn’t seem to trouble him,” he said after the match.
Not only this, Shaw garnered the praise from India skipper, Virat Kohli when both squads were about to depart from Mumbai Airport.
“I have heard a lot about him and Ravi (Shastri) bhai has told me a lot of things about him,” he said before meeting the U-19 squad for advice and tips.
