However, India‘s ace-spinner, Ravichandran Ashwin got criticised of late for his performance, and moreover, he injured himself while playing at Trent Bridge. However, Ashwin stated he was fit and thus represented the side in the fourth Test.

Meanwhile, left-hand spinner all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja might replace Ravichandran Ashwin for the last match. The off-spinner was restricted to practice and took no part in a net session yesterday. However, Ravichandran Ashwin injury and lack of form give an opportunity to Ravindra Jadeja.

However, Ravindra Jadeja spent a lot of time batting in nets and was seen speaking with assistant coach Sanjay Bangar.

Ravindra Jadeja had set himself as a sub-continent specialist, whereas, Ravichandran Ashwin is struggling to overcome his injury.

Furthermore, Ravindra Jadeja took 26 wickets against England at home in the 2017/18 season. He is also good in the lower-order batting line-up proving a lot of runs for his team.

Meanwhile, India might not make a drastic change in the team combination. However, there is pressure on Hardik Pandya to hold on to his spot. He has proven himself with the bowling attack but failed to do so with his batting capabilities.

Ravindra Jadeja played 36 Test matches for India scoring 1196 runs with an average of 29.17. His highest individual best score was 90.

Moreover, Jadeja took 171 wickets to his name with his best bowling figure of seven for 48. He played his last Test match against Afganistan at Bengaluru. He scored 20 runs in the first innings and took six wickets to his name. Moreover, Jadeja is also an excellent fielder on the ground.
