Santhakumaran Sreesanth, the cricketer, who received a life ban from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has seen a unique thing in the recent loss for India during England vs India 2018 Test series.

The Kerala-based fast bowler feels Indian fast bowling has been over-rated on the England tour. Further, the well-built lad recollected the memories when they won series touring England in 2007.

He believes senior bowler Ishant Sharma should have finished with 25 wickets.

The fast bowler feels that he alongside Zaheer Khan and RP Singh bowled well to defend the matches in England during 2007. Despite reiterated that, he doesn’t want to say that they bowled well, but he wanted to convey that the experienced bowlers need to rise up for the challenge.

Sreesanth believes Ishant could have fared better than what he did for Team India. He feels that lanky pacer Ishant should have finished with 25-plus wickets rather than 18 wickets which he bagged.

“I did follow the England series. I must say I was very disappointed with the bowling. The last series win was in 2007 which I was part of. I, RP Singh and Zaheer Khan were there. We saved a Test in Lord’s,” Sreesanth, who joined a reality show Big Boss on Colors TV said.

“I am not trying to say the 2007 attack was better. But Ishant has been the most experienced bowler and he should have finished with 25 wickets, not 18. I am not saying five wickets in an innings. But five wickets in a Test was needed, like two-plus three wickets in each innings,” he added.

Confident of making a comeback – Sreesanth

The flamboyant former Indian player maintained he is still eyeing to make a return for Team India in the coming future. He is hopeful that God will be kind to him and the rules will be relaxed after the judgement from the Kerala High Court.

“I have been keeping myself very busy by training. God has been kind to me. It is a matter of one order from the court which should allow me to play. The Kerala Cricket Association has been very supportive. The ban is yet to be lifted. Once that is lifted, I think I will be more active. I am 35, I think I have got another six-seven years,” he said.

However, it was a splendid time for Sreesanth during his days in the Team India Jersey. He acquired a lot of fans for his aggressive, fast bowling but unfortunately, few routine things completely turned the odd things for Sreesanth in his career and life.

England vs India 2018 Test series witnessed a lot as Sreesanth expected from the national team bowlers.
