By far, it has been India’s best tour to England compared to the past couple of outings. Unlike earlier visits, the India team showed a lot of grit and came close to bagging the series apart from Lords’ Test. Meanwhile, Diana Edulji wants the honest report from the manager for England vs India 2018 series.

After the debacle in the Southampton Test, the skills of the team management received a lot of queries from the critic masters. Indian fans were unhappy with the management for their game plans. Especially, the ill-selection at Lords.

We always believed in the team management – Diana Edulji

The chief personality in the CoA quoted they have always thought the management is doing well with the team. This time too she expressed her concern for the team, as they did well apart from the Test at Lords. Meanwhile, the report of the series by the manager will hold the key.

However, there is the possibility of a manager writing the report in favour of the team management. Apart from Ravi Shastri, all the others in the troop are having the contract of only one year.

In a case of the report getting made against Shastri, there is a good chance that Ravi Shastri might neglect the manager after the conclusion of the one-year contract.

Speaking of the same, Diana Edulji wants the manager, Sunil Subramanium to be faithful to his work.

“We have consciously avoided getting involved in on-field activities and strongly feel that the team management and selectors are there to look into the performance of the players. But yes, we will definitely review the performance of the coaching staff when it comes up for a review. As you are aware, they are all on a one-year contract,” she explained.

The manager must file an honest report of whatever happened during the England tour. If you see black and then you decide to call it white, that doesn’t become white. I am sure he will be fair in his assessment,” she clarified while speaking to Hindustan Times.

However, it would be interesting to see how things would pan out after the conclusion of the series. The report by the team manager will play a key role in BCCI taking the further steps towards the management.
