However, the fans will not be able to see the star bowler in the fifth Test match of the series.
Earlier, the management team declared him as fit and was retained in the playing XI of the penultimate Test. Moreover, India spinner, Ashwin looked inaccessible during the match. He picked up only three wickets in the fourth Test fixture.
However, English star and off-spinner Moeen Ali, who made a sudden comeback in the series bagged with nine wickets to his name as England bagged the series with a match to go.
However, the No.1 Test team has already lost the Test series against England, and the management will not be taking any risk as India is set to face Australia later this year.
India showed some poor performance in the series:
India is struggling with the opening pair. However, there might be a chance to introduce Prithvi Shaw in place of KL Rahul for the fifth Test.
Much to the delight, the bowlers did well throughout the series. Both India-England will try to tinker with the playing XI. Moreover, visiting team made a good come back after the loss of the first and second Test against England.
Visitors played a good brand of cricket both with bat and the ball in the third Test. They won the match beating England by 203 runs.
Indian skipper, Virat Kohli scored 200 runs in the match. However, both Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrh took a five-wicket haul in Nottingham match.
India will play their fifth Test match against England which will commence from September 7 as Ravichandran Ashwin might be replaced by Ravindra Jadeja.
