After naming the Men’s One-day International, Twenty20 International, and Test XI for the last 25 years, it was time for prestigious sports platform ESPN Cricinfo to name the Women’s ODI XI post-1992.

Well, you can’t deny the fact that the women’s game is not that exciting like the men’s game due to the slowness of how things pan out.
However, in the last few months, women’s cricket has improved by leaps and bounds. Very recently it was a great knock of 116 off 52 deliveries by Tommy Beaumont which helped England to set the highest T20I score in women’s cricket.
England set up 250 which will definitely take the same beating by any team. Meanwhile, coming to the ODI team for the 25 years, the opening slot will be occupied by Belinda Clarke and Charlotte Edwards.
Both were stalwarts during their playing days. Belinda remains arguably the greatest batswoman ever. Edwards retired from ODI cricket a couple of years ago.
The number three position was given to none other than Mithali Raj, the former Indian skipper. She is the leading run scorer in Women’s ODI’s.
Mithali is a veteran in the game and has reached the twilight of her career. She led India to the final of the World Cup, last year in England. However, they lost their plot in end and surrendered the match by nine runs following brilliance from Anya Shrubsole.

Sarah Taylor will occupy the wicket-keeper’s slot. She has been an outstanding wicket-keeper.
The great Adam Gilchrist recently called her the ‘best wicket-keeper’ in the world in both men’s and women’s cricket. Sarah is a consistent performer for England with the bat too.
Lisa Sthalekar thanks ESPN Cricinfo for picking her:
Ellyse Perry and Lisa Sthalekar have been awarded the seventh and the eighth spot respectively. Lisa also thanked ESPN Cricinfo for selecting her.
Moreover, all-rounder Ellyse has also been a star for a performer for the Aussies over the years.
Two Indian bowlers are there in the playing XI. Jhulan Goswami’s name was always going to be first on the list. She has been an outstanding bowler for India and is the leading wicket-taker in the 50-over format.
Neetu David is the second spinner in the team. the left-arm spinner was quite a sensation during her playing days. She represented India at the highest level with authority.
The former Australian bowler Cathryn Fitzpatrick will occupy the last spot. She was one of the best fast bowlers from Australia and rightly gets a spot in the team.
