Essex's Varun Chopra is Eager to Take Tips from Virat Kohli

From receiving flak to people relishing standing next to him, Virat Kohli turned all his English haters into his fans. The batting maestro’s presence in England has been a big thing for them after his heroics in international cricket.

Recently, the Barmy Army confirmed it, and now, the Essex’s talented batsman, Varun Chopra is relishing playing against big names in the Indian cricket.

Varun shares his experience with Virat Kohli after catching him on the sidelines on day two of the only warm-up game up between two sides.

I played against Virat Kohli in U-19, 12 years ago – Varun Chopra

Varun Chopra recollected his playing days against Virat Kohli in Under-19 semi-finals 12 years ago. He added a lot has been changed and felt good for meeting Indian skipper on the sidelines.

Despite having a met Virat Kohli, Varun Chopra hasn’t received any tips from the India skipper. Although he wants to take a few after the game ends on Friday. Revealing the chat, Varun Chopra added they mostly spoke about the match.

”I played against Virat Kohli in Under-19 semifinals, 12 years ago now. It is obviously nice to meet after a long session of time, We just caught up on the sidelines and tried to pick up his brain who is one of the best at the moment. He is a great spokesman and very helpful,” Varun Chopra said in the video released by Essex.

”Tomorrow, I need to talk specifically, about the batting. Today, we just spoke about how things are and the general issues. To be honest, it was more about the game. And, I am hoping for the good results and hopefully, a tight series between India and England.

Practice game is on its drive to a draw

After the domination on the first day by India, Essex cricketers pulled their socks on day two of the game. The batsmen took on Indian pacers and kept them at bay. The impressive comeback saw the game turn its wheel towards a draw.
