Swashbuckling Pakistan opener Fakhar Zaman will be out of action for three to five weeks and will miss the upcoming Test series against South Africa due to an aggravated knee injury.
Meanwhile, Zaman is undergoing a rehabilitation process at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore. The southpaw will undergo further tests in Tuesday on his injured knee. The duration of his rehabilitation, which for now seems to be a maximum of five weeks, is subject to his progress.
Previously, the two were expected to be back in the UAE from the third Test, but Pakistan decided to retain the same 15-man lineup. The series is currently at 1-1 with the series decider starting from December 3.
Sarfraz Ahmed & Co will also miss the services of Mohammad Abbas who has injured his shoulder while fielding during the second Test. Furthermore, Abbas will also miss the third and the final Test against New Zealand.
