Swashbuckling Pakistan opener Fakhar Zaman will be out of action for three to five weeks and will miss the upcoming Test series against South Africa due to an aggravated knee injury.

Meanwhile, Zaman is undergoing a rehabilitation process at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore. The southpaw will undergo further tests in Tuesday on his injured knee. The duration of his rehabilitation, which for now seems to be a maximum of five weeks, is subject to his progress.

Fakhar Zaman made his Test debut against Australia in Abu Dhabi in October and left a mark instantly. He smashed 94 and 68 which paved the way for Pakistan’s 373-run win over the Aussies to clinch the two-match series 1-0.Zaman complained about the injury during the white-ball series of the ongoing New Zealand tour of the UAE. The dashing batter has likely picked up the injury while fielding in the second T20I against Australia. He along with Shadab Khan, who suffered groin injury opted from the three-match Test series to fully recover from the injury.
