Fans Call For Boycott Of Thiruvananthapuram T20I After Sanju Samson's Axing From T20I Squad

MSK Prasad-led selection panel sprung a big surprise on Thursday by dropping Sanju Samson from India’s T20I squad for next month’s series against West Indies. The decision was baffling since the batsman did not even get a chance to prove himself after being recalled for the T20I series against Bangladesh earlier this month.
Sanju Samson had earned that call after his consistent performances in domestic circuit including a double-century in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. However, he did not get any chance to play against Bangladesh before being dropped for the forthcoming series. Thus, the right-handed batsman will have to wait for some more time to prove himself.
As far as playing for India is concerned, Samson is no stranger to it. He had earned his maiden India call-up way back in 2014 when he was just 18. The stylish batsman was included in the squad for the England tour but he could not make his debut. In the following year, he made his debut against Zimbabwe but was dropped after that tour and only earned another recall last month for the Bangladesh series.
Fans call for boycott:
The latest snub for Sanju Samson, meanwhile, seems to have infuriated his fans. As soon as the squad was announced, the fans came out in numbers to slam the selectors and the team-management. And some fans went as far as saying that everyone should boycott the second T20I between India and West Indies which will take place at Samson’s hometown Thiruvananthapuram.
Here are some of the reactions:

Having been selected for the Bangladesh T20 series & not getting a single opportunity one would expect Sanju to at least retain his place in the national squad.
Bearing in mind that the 2nd T20 against West Indies is scheduled to be played at Trivandrum.?— Maryson F (@marysonf18) November 21, 2019
