India’s young allrounder Shivam Dube had a forgettable outing in the fifth and final T20I against New Zealand on Sunday. While Men in Blue won the game to register a historic whitewash, Shivam Dube was taken to cleaners by Tim Seifert and Ross Taylor in the match.

In the tenth over of New Zealand’s innings, Seifert and Taylor blasted him for 34 runs. This was the most runs conceded by an India bowler when it comes to T20Is and the second most overall just behind Stuart Broad who was slammed for six sixes in the same over by Yuvraj Singh in 2007.

Seifert slammed Shivam Dube for two sixes in the first two balls. The third ball went for a four before Seifert took a single to give the strike to Taylor. But Taylor piled more misery on the youngster. The next ball was a no-ball which Taylor hit for a four before ending the overs with two more sixes.

That over pretty much turned the game in New Zealand’s favour as they raced away to 98 in 10 overs while chasing 164. But the hosts failed to finish the game strongly once again and suffered an almighty collapse to end their innings on 156 for 9.  Jasprit Bumrah led the rout to finish with the impressive figures of three for 12 off his four overs.

With 45 balls remaining, New Zealand were three down for 116 and needed 48 to win. But once Navdeep Saini dismissed Seifert, India clawed their way back in the game and went on to win it. Earlier in the game, Rohit Sharma’s 60-run knock had helped India post 163 for 3.

Shivam Dube trolled:

Shivam Dube, nonetheless, faced the heat on Twitter after nearly costing India the game with his forgettable over. As soon as he ended up conceding 34 runs, a number of fans took to Twitter to troll him and enrolled him in the Dinda Academy, a term which was started by the fans a few years ago after former India bowler Ashok Dinda.

Whenever a bowler has a poor outing, the fans call him a member of Dinda Academy and Dube had no escape either.
