In April 2015, International Cricket Council downsized Asia Cup by making this tournament on a rotational basis in One-Day and T20 format. It depends on the respective world mega event under the ICC.

India will enter into the 2018 Asia Cup as a defender. India alongside Sri Lanka leads the title winners as both have won it record five times in Asia Cup history.

UAE will host the 14th edition of Asia Cup, and there will be six participants in the tournament. The tournament was actually scheduled in India however due to political tensions between India and Pakistan; it was moved to the United Arab Emirates.

Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will play the first clash of the tournament. India and arch-rivals will face each other in the first instance on 19th September.

India vs Pakistan (2016)

It was the 4th match of the tournament that took place on 27th of February. While batting first, Pakistan could amass a mere score of 88 with Sarfaraz Ahmed being a top scorer with 25. Hardik Pandya bowled 3.3 overs from his four overs quota and achieved the figures of 3/8.

In return, Mohammad Aamir helped his team to come back in the match when he took three successive wickets inside six overs. Thanks to the gallantry of Virat Kohli who once again proved to be a savior. He scored 49 off 51 and India won the game by five wickets.

Bangladesh vs India (2016)

It was the final match of the tournament and Bangladesh was in hot favorites as they defeated Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the previous meetings.

Bangladesh while batting first in a 15 overs match put a total of 120 for the loss of five wickets. Mahmudullah was the top scorer with unbeaten 33.

In reply to it, Shikhar Dhawan gave a quickfire start to India as he scored 60 off 44 and eventually won the game by eight wickets with seven balls to spare.

India vs Bangladesh (2014)

It was the second match of the 12th edition of Asia Cup that was a tournament of 50-overs format.

Bangladesh while batting first put a mammoth total of 279 for the loss of seven wickets. Mushfiqur Rahim powered the total of Bangladesh as he scored 117 of just 113 balls.

India who earlier won the toss and opted to field first well off to a balancing start. Thanks to the magnanimous ton of Virat Kohli, India achieved the target with one over to spare. Kohli scored 136 off 122 and won the Man of the match title.

India vs Pakistan (2012)

This famous victory came two days after when Sachin Tendulkar achieved the much-anticipated milestone of 100 centuries.
While providing the outstanding knock of 183, Virat Kohli proved that he is ready to fill the shoes of his maestro.

Pakistan while batting first put a mammoth score of 329. The left-hand opener, Nasir Jamshed along with Mohammad Hafeez set an opening partnership of 224 runs. With the excellent light works from Younis Khan at the end, Pakistan managed to get around a par score.

India lost Gautam Gambhir early on the chase, however, two maestros of Indian batting put the partnership of 132 for the second wicket.

With the help of 22 boundaries and two gigantic sixes, Virat Kohli helped India to achieve a highest successful run-chase of then.

India vs Pakistan (2010)

This match could be the best example of a see-saw match. Pakistan posted an excellent fighting total of 267 while batting first.
India was climbing at a good pace when MS Dhoni along with Gautam Gambhir scored 98 runs for the third wicket partnership.

However, a collapse helped Pakistan to come back in the match.

India was struggling at 219 for the loss of six wickets when the great bat swings of Harbhajan Singh did the job for India.
