Glenn Maxwell Returns To BBL Ahead Of IPL 2020 Auction

The swashbuckling Australian batsman Glenn Maxwell set to play for Melbourne Stars in the upcoming edition of the Big Bash League. After taking an indefinite break from the game, the all-rounder decided to make a return through the most-followed tournament in the country. He is assigned to lead the team as well.

Glenn Maxwell took the break while playing for Australia against Sri Lanka during the recently concluded 3-match T20I series. Surprisingly, he took the call after playing a brilliant knock in the first match of the series against Sri Lanka. However, Cricket Australia respected his decision and gave him a green signal to take the break from the game.

Speaking of Glenn Maxwell return, the head coach David Hussey expressed his happiness for the return of the swashbuckling player. He stated that Maxwell adds great strength to the side and applauded his decision to take the break when it was required. David Hussey feels mental health is as important as physical health.

“We’re pleased to see Glenn in green and ready to lead our side with a big season ahead. He’s an incredible talent and a key part of our club, but health and well-being comes first and it’s important that he’s been able to take some time away to focus on that,” head coach David Hussey said as per Sportstar.

Recently, he played three Victorian Premier Cricket matches with club side Fitzroy Doncaster. He had also taken part in some aspects of Victoria’s Shield program. Last week, the right-handed all-rounder participated in Victoria’s training sessions at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, hinting a quick return.
