The 15th match of the Global T20 Canada league went down to the wire, as Toronto Nationals won by one wicket against Montreal Tigers.

Lasith Malinga-led Montreal Tigers put a target of 177 after they were put in to bat by Darren Sammy.

The southpaw batsman George Worker worked his way to a well deserved fifty. Thus, the left-hander was able to provide solidarity in the middle-order. Meanwhile, Australian all-rounder Moises Henriques gave excellent support to Worker.

The right hand and left-hand batting pair put together an alliance of 127 runs to take their team to a respectable total.

It was a nail-biting finish.

Moises also scored a fine fifty off 39 balls. The right-hander half-century included four boundaries and three maximums. On the other hand, former Pakistan bowler, Mohammad Sami scalped three wickets for the Toronto Nationals.

Meanwhile, Darren Sammy-led team didn’t have the best of starts, as they lost three wickets for just 27 runs. Former Australian skipper, Steven Smith could not contribute much, as he got dismissed after scoring three runs.

However, New Zealand’s batsman, Anton Devcich scored 43 runs. Furthermore, Nitish Kumar and Kieron Pollard took Toronto Nationals close to the target. However, they could not provide the finishing touches to their team’s chase.

Thus, the Toronto Nationals lost their way in the fag end of their run-chase. They needed 13 runs to win off the last over, and Mohammad Sami and Kesrick Williams were able to get them home. It was an unbelievable finish from the Toronto Nationals. The Darren Sammy-led side was able to win their second match of the league. Therefore, they are sitting in the fifth place in the points table.
