Good Show in England Can Open Senior Team Doors, Says Ankit Bawne

Ankit Bawne, a Maharashtra-based batsman is eyeing for an Indian spot banking on a good performance for the India A side, which will travel to England later this year.
Meanwhile, Bawne has a rich statistics to back his abilities after making his debut in 2007. He has scored 5,367 runs in 78 first-class games at an average of over 52.
Moreover, Bawne is a clean striker of the ball and will be desperate to prove his worth.
However, he has been part of previous India A squad to tour South Africa and New Zealand. India A will play a four-day Test against England A from July 16 to 19 at Worcestershire. They will also take part in few three-day games against County side.
Looking to impress the selectors
The right-handed batsman Bawne said he is looking forward to countering the alien conditions while talking to the newswire. He also feels a good stint in England can open the door for the Indian team.
“This (England tour of India ‘A’) is an important tour. For me, it’s a good opportunity because if I do well in this series, then selectors will notice it,” PTI quotes Bawne.
“If I do well there (in England), that is going to get the eye of selectors and they are going to start believing that this guy can perform in all situations and (on) all wickets. So that way I am thinking that if I do well in that series it’s going to open doors of the Indian team,” Bawne explained.
The 25-year-old Bawne cricketer also maintained that he has already started his preparations. Further, he claimed that he has stepped up on seam-friendly or challenging tracks.
Dravid knows my game inside out –
Bawne also hailed India A coach Rahul Dravid, who has helped him in improving his technique.
Moreover, Ankit Bawne admitted that he has worked with him before and that he knows his game inside out.
“This is not my first time with Rahul Sir. I have been with him in South Africa and (during the) New Zealand (A tour in India) and with the (Delhi) Daredevils. He knows my game inside out. You get to learn a lot from Rahul Sir, because he is someone who has scored lot of runs for India. His inputs and thoughts about the game are important,” he concluded.
