Andhra’s right-handed batsman Hanuma Vihari is hopeful to receive his ODI’s call-up after performing well in the Deodhar Trophy. Vihari had played for India B in the recently concluded domestic 50-overs tournament. Vihari was instrumental in getting India B to the final of the competition. The right-hander had scored a fine knock of 76 and also followed it with an unbeaten knock of 87 runs.
Meanwhile, Hanuma Vihari had also scored a valiant knock of 56 on his Test debut against England. Vihari had made the cut for the final two Test matches and received his chance in the final Test match at the Oval. Furthermore, Vihari is also included in the four-Test match squad for the tour of Australia.

Hanuma Vihari said he is focussed on the process rather than the eventual result. Vihari wants to continue scoring runs and is hopeful of getting his call-up.
“Hopefully it should. My job is to keep performing and I will keep doing that, rest is up to the team management and the selectors,” said Hanuma in conversation with Timesnownews.com. “For me, the team comes first, whichever it is. I play according to the situation rather than from the selection point of view.”
The right-hander also went on to add that he is looking forward to preparing for the short stuff for the upcoming tour of Australia. The Australian pitches are known to extract good bounce and Vihari wants to tick all the boxes in his preparation.

Vihari is getting ready for the short stuff.
“Don’t want to give much importance to any tour in particular. I just want to continue doing what I have done for so many years. I don’t want to try anything better,” said Hanuma.
However, while talking about his preparation for the Australia tour, Hanuma said, “Austalia pitches will be fast and bouncy and so the bowlers will be mostly coming up with short deliveries. So I will be especially preparing for the shorts deliveries so that I can encounter them well.”
Hanuma Vihari looks a technically correct batsman and would look to deliver the goods in Australia. There is no doubt that Vihari will need to give a stern examination on Australian pitches and would like to come up roses.
