Harbhajan Singh Elated to be Picked by Chennai Super Kings

Discarded India spinner Harbhajan Singh was expecting a fresh start in today’s Indian Premier League (IPL) auctions after Mumbai Indians (MI) decided not to retain him.

Harbhajan was a part of MI since the inception of IPL in 2008. He was one of the key players to Mumbai’s success. Harbhajan has won five titles with MI including one as a captain.

Earlier, Harbhajan stated that he has no misunderstanding with MI management as they informed him about their strategy.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK), who is back into this year’s IPL after serving a ban of two years roped in the experienced Harbhajan at his base price of 2 crores.

Harbhajan will bring in a lot of experience to this revamped CSK line-up with MS Dhoni back as the captain. Notably, CSK retained Dhoni, Suresh Raina, and Ravindra Jadeja ahead of the auctions.

Harbhajan took to Twitter to express his happiness on shifting his base.

Harbhajan will be a like-to-like replacement for Ravichandran Ashwin, who shifted his base to Punjab as CSK didn’t use the Right To Match (RTM) option for him. Kings XI Punjab roped in for 7.6 crores.
