Discarded India cricketer, Harbhajan Singh has suggested that Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) should shed its apprehensions and embrace pink ball Test matches in the foreseeable future.

Meanwhile, India has recently refused to play day-night Test against Australia in Adelaide. However, this invited a wide range of criticism from former cricketers including Mark Waugh and Ian Chappell.

Well, the veteran cricketer Harbhajan in a recent conversation with PTI has admitted that it is an interesting format. He also urged every team to embrace this new format.

I don’t know why they don’t want to play day-night Test matches. It’s an interesting format and we should try it,” PTI quotes Harbhajan said.

The wily customer revealed playing with the pink ball would not trouble as far as you get used to it.

Tell me what’s the apprehension of playing with pink ball? If you play, you can adjust. It may not be as difficult as it seems,” he added.

The Committee of Administrators (CoA), however, has backed Indian cricket team’s demand of not play playing day-night for the upcoming 18 months. Head coach Ravi Shastri admitted that they need atleast 18 months to prepare for the pink ball Test.

India’s third-highest wicket-taker in Test fold, Harbhajan also dismissed that the logic that Indian batsmen will struggle against the Aussie quick in the day-night Test.

So what if you get out? We have fast bowlers to trouble them. And what makes us think our batsmen can’t take up the challenge of facing Aussie pacers. It’s a challenge and what’s the harm in taking up the challenge. When we were new to Test cricket, we had only learnt how to bowl with SG Test and then slowly learnt to bowl with kookaburra and dukes,” Harbhajan mentioned.

Meanwhile, Harbhajan is in a great frame of mind as his team Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have already qualified for the playoffs of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018. They have made a terrific return to the league and is one of the possible contenders to lift the title.
