Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has hit the headlines aplenty of late. Hardik Pandya is the kind of cricketer, who always comes in the news when being in action due to his all-round skills. In an exclusive chat with renowned commentator, Harsha Bhogle, Hardik indulged in an interesting conversation. The Baroda all-rounder was asked to name six players, who would make it to his ‘gully cricket team’. Harsha Bhogle gave him a star-studded list of players as openers that comprised of Rohit Sharma, David Warner, Chris Gayle, KL Rahul, and Quinton de Kock.
As an element of surprise, Hardik Pandya chose Chris Gayle as his opener ahead of his Mumbai Indians’ skipper, Chris Gayle. He addressed the swashbuckling Jamaican’s inclusion by saying that Hardik is his massive fan.
Hardik Pandya also selected Krunal Pandya in his gully cricket team:
Claiming to be a fan of Gayle, Harsha Bhogle asked Hardik if he wants to settle down in one of the Caribbean Islands. He denied the probability having also appreciated the excitement brought by the West Indian players. After Gayle, the 26-year old opted for Indian captain Virat Kohli and former skipper MS Dhoni in the outfit.
Another West Indian athlete in Andre Russell, followed by Krunal Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah completed his team. Hardik Pandya was all set to make a comeback to the national team in March against South Africa. But the series got called off, owing to the COVID-19 outbreak after the first of the three ODIs resulted in a whitewash in Dharamshala. Fans would have to wait for some more months to wait to see him on the field.
