Chennai Super Kings [CSK] have endured an abysmal 2020 IPL season thus far and one of the prime reasons for that has been the lackluster form of their batsmen.
On Saturday, MS Dhoni-led CSK suffered their fifth defeat of their campaign following yet another botched run-chase against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
The absence of star batsman Suresh Raina and the lack of form of the majority of their batsmen has hurt CSK greatly this season and it will be interesting to see how the MS Dhoni-Stephen Fleming approaches the mid-season transfer, which is scheduled to start from October 13.
Harsha Bhogle on whom CSK should target in the mid-season transfer
The Mid-season transfer, this season, will apply to all capped and uncapped players, who haven’t played more than two games for their respective franchises.
Harsha Bhogle, Indian commentator, took to his official Twitter account on Saturday, where he wrote that CSK should go for a quality top-order batsman like Ajinkya Rahane, given the fact that he is not getting a game at the Delhi Capitals due to the presence of a formidable opening pair in Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw.
“How’s this for a mid-season transfer thought: #CSK desperately need a quality top order batsman. Ajinkya Rahane desperately needs a game. Ajinkya Rahane is not getting a game. #MidnightThoughts.
It is, however, pretty unlikely that the Capitals will let go of Rahane as the Indian Test vice-captain is a perfect foil at the top of the order and also considering the fact that Shikhar Dhawan has not set the stage on fire in the competition thus far.
