Former India opener Wasim Jaffer has revealed a very emotional story about his ex-India teammate MS Dhoni. The former opening batsman revealed how MS Dhoni just wanted to earn a decent amount from playing cricket to live a peaceful life in his hometown Ranchi.

The former India skipper came from very humble background. When he made his debut in 2004, the wicketkeeepers were all about being good behind the wickets and  handy lower-order batsman. However, MS Dhoni completely changed its definition and redefined the role of wicketkeeper-batsman.

Over 10,000 runs in ODI cricket just tells the story of how successful a batsman he is while his performance as wicketkeeper needs no introduction. MS Dhoni is also the most decorated skipper in the history of India cricket. Till date, he is the only captain in the world to have won all the three ICC trophies – T20 World Cup, 50-over World Cup and the Champions Trophy.

Unsurprisingly, MS Dhoni is one of the richest cricketers in the world. According to reports, he has a net worth of more than $110 million which is well above INR 700 crore. But when he started his career in international cricket, he did not dream of making it very big in the game.

Wasim Jaffer revealed a very interesting and moving story of MS Dhoni. He was interacting with his fans on Twitter when one of them asked him to reveal ‘favourite memory with MS Dhoni’. In reply, Wasim Jaffer said that the 38-year old just wanted to make Rs 30 lakhs at the start of his career to settle down in Ranchi.

“In his 1st or 2nd year in Indian team, I remember he said, he wants to make 30lakhs from playing cricket so he can live peacefully rest of his life in Ranchi,” wrote Wasim Jaffer.

Meanwhile, MS Dhoni has not played for India or any other team since the end of the World Cup in July last year. He was set to return to action today (March 29) through the Indian Premier League (IPL) before the BCCI suspended the league till April 15 in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.
