It was a well-fought England vs India 2018 series. They tried their best and almost came close in bagging the series but unfortunately, ended up on the wrong side of the things. However, coming to the topic, let’s look at the Asian teams performed in English conditions for the last 20 years as per the win-loss ratio basis.

Asian Teams win-loss ratio in the UK:

4. Bangladesh – 0

Bangladesh never tasted the success in England. They always came back to the home with the empty hands. However, gone are those days, when they used to be the minnows in International cricket.

Now, they have got the players to tackle Englishman effectively. However, the numbers don’t mind though. So far, they locked horns for the four times against England in the UK and lost every time.

It has been a long time for Bangladesh since travelling to England and perhaps, they might wait for at least a couple of more years to dust off the record books.

However, they did decent enough in the limited overs format of the game.

3. India – 0.333

The current world number one ranked team is placed at third in the list. Though they had quite a success against England in earlier times, the last three tours have been disasters for India as England bagged all of them in their kitty with decent performances.

However, India has got their moments in winning the series. But, unfortunately, they ended up on the wrong side after failing to capitalise on the situations properly. The recent tour of the UK in 2018 was the best chance for India to change the numbers in their favour, once again, they repeated the same mistakes to ask hosts to lift the trophy.

In total, they played 21 games in the UK and won only four games to their name. India has got the most number of loses in their bag with as many as 12 while the remaining five matches were drawn.

2. Pakistan – 0.500

Another dominating Asian country in the world cricket in Pakistan. They have always got the required firepower in their tank to get better of hosts in the English conditions. The likes of Misbah, Younis Khan guided the team to the finest victories in the UK to write a decent record for Pakistan abroad.

In their recent tour to England, they have done exceptionally well to put the Three Lions on the back foot. However, they too failed to capitalise the moments and ended up giving the trophy back to hosts.

Coming to the stats, they featured in 16 games against Pakistan and achieved success for five times. The remaining 11 games saw ten losses and only one draw. Though they have won a large number of games than any other Asian team, their numbers in their loss category let them stay at second in the list.

1. Sri Lanka – 0.500

Yes, Sri Lanka has been the Asian country to tour the United Kingdom (UK) in the last 20 years of time. The likes of Kumar Sangakkara, Jayawardene and Mathews carried the team on their shoulders to taste the success in English conditions.

Sri Lanka has always been defensive in their approach and but played their skins out in tackling Englishmen. Perhaps, they would have ended with better numbers if they had capitalised those moments when the English team played to draw the game.

In total, they appeared in 15 games and tasted success in only three games. However, they have been smart enough in not letting the games go away as they drew as many as six matches. In the remaining six games, they ended up on the losing side.

All in all, as per the numbers, Sri Lanka is one the best Asian teams to tour England for the last 20 years of time owing to the win-loss ratio.
