Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) is all set to move their home matches from Mohali to their adopted home at the Holkar Stadium in Indore. KXIP is scheduled to play three of their home games this season, much like in the tenth edition of cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL).

However, Indore, the city tagged as the cleanest in India. The management decided to implement its renowned motto of 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle of plastic waste) in the impending matches starting from May 4, 2018.
For those unaware, the concept 3Rs is also called as Indore Declaration. The popular concept was released for Asia-Pacific countries in the city last month (April).
Also, District collector Nishant Warwade briefed the press at Collectorate on Tuesday (May 1). He said that a decision was undertaken to implement 3Rs in all the four IPL matches – to be played at Holkar.
Additionally, it was learnt, according to Free Press Journal, that the emphasis would be on the consumption of organic food.
For starters, the spectators in the stadium shall be asked to implement 3Rs in all the four IPL matches.
Thereafter, the players will issue messages to follow green initiatives.
The CEO of Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA), Rohit Pandit claimed that paper cups and plates will be used.

We will have an on-site composting facility,” said Pandit.

Cricket is popular and considered as a religion, so the cleanliness and 3R measures taken in the matches will spread the message in a big way,” mentioned the country head of UN Environment Atul Bagai.

Bagai said that the aim of selecting the IPL matches and Indore city is quite obvious.

“We will showcase that cleanliness can be maintained in big events and 3Rs can be followed,” added Bagai,

“But before that, we want to get it done in Indore in IPL matches. Our team will follow the protocol and we will use paper cups and plates. We will also re-use the banners, waste,” the CEO of Kings XI Punjab, Satish Menon stated, while appreciating the decision to implement 3Rs in IPL matches at Holkar Stadium.
