In the age of social media, the cricketers are very active on various social media platforms. Among all of the Indian cricketers, Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravichandran Ashwin are two of the most active on these platforms. On Friday, Chahal, who is mostly known for trolling his teammates, challenged Ashwin to a chess match after the latter got bored playing with the computer.
Ashwin took a break from Tamil Nadu’s Ranji Trophy match against Madhya Pradesh after a jam-packed schedule throughout the year. As he prepares to spend the new year with his family, Ravichandran Ashwin shared a post on Twitter of him playing chess on the computer. Along with the picture, Ashwin wrote that playing chess on the computer is easy and asked for a tough opponent.

“Playing chess against the computer is just sooooo easy, it’s putting me to sleep. Can someone please help me make this more challenging? #Bored #SomeOneChallengeMe #ChessIsFun,” Ravichandran Ashwin tweeted.

Ravichandran Ashwin’s teammate, Yuzvendra Chahal, was quick to jump in and challenged him for a match. Notably, Chahal is a junior national champion in chess and also represented the nation at World Youth Chess Championship. Later he switched his career to cricket before becoming a regular part of the Indian team in 2017. Incidentally, he had replaced Ashwin after India’s debacle in the Champions Trophy in England in 2017.
Ashwin was quick to accept the challenge, and it would be an exciting duel when both of them sit for a chess match.
“How about a game with me Ash bhai @ashwinravi99,” Chahal replied.
