With a mountain to climb, Iyer never flinched nor did he panic, rather waited for that one bad ball to send it out of the park. It was the proper calculation that was going on his head helped him keep his calm during the entire process.
For the longest time, India has always demanded a middle-order player like him and now they can hope this turns out to be the gold dust and not a flash in the pan. The Indian skipper Virat Kohli also showered words of praise on Shreyas Iyer for his brilliant knock under the pressure.

Took an act of revenge –
Further, when asked about those big sixes, Shreyas Iyer tried to pull the leg of Yuzvendra Chahal. Iyer quoted that he smashed those big sixes in order to take the revenge, as Nicholas Pooran smashed Yuzvendra Chahal out of the park.
“I have to take revenge for our bowler being hit. He (Pooran) is a fine batsman but since Chahal has been hit I am angry and so will have to take the revenge. I did routine and had my breakfast. I ate three eggs.”,” Iyer joked.
All in all, Shreyas Iyer will return India with all the accolades and a lot of confidence in his kitty. This would be the ribbon-cutting for his glorious cricketing career.
