India’s middle-order batsman Manoj Tiwary stated that he has a point to prove after the Indian Premier League snub. Tiwary had played for the Kings XI Punjab in the IPL 2018 but he didn’t get a lot of game time. The right-hander could only score 47 runs in four innings as he failed to hit the ground running in the previous season.
However, Tiwary had an outstanding Indian Premier League in the 2017 season while playing for the runners-up Rising Pune Supergiant. The right-hander had scored 324 runs in 13 matches as he batted at the top of his game.

Tiwari shares his disappointment.
Manoj Tiwary said while talking to Sportstar, “I have a point to prove to those who did not pick me in the IPL this year. But that won’t be at the expense of my team. If my side needs me to anchor the innings and in doing so, if my strike-rate takes a hit, I don’t mind that at all”.
Tiwary had scored a crucial knock of 35 runs in the must-win against Chennai Super Kings. Thus, it was surprising for him that Kings XI Punjab decided not to retain him. In fact, Manoj Tiwary had shown his disappointment at his Twitter account after the IPL auctions.
Tiwary was surprised by his IPL snub.
“Last year in the IPL, I didn’t get much game time with the Kings XI. And the year before that, I had an outstanding 2017 with Rising Pune [Supergiant]. I won the most number of FBB awards [for the most stylish player] with Gautam Gambhir, and I was one of the top performers in my team. Last IPL, for Kings XI, I was the second highest run-scorer (35) after Karun Nair (54) in a must-win game [Punjab lost ] against CSK in Pune.
I don’t know what else I need to do. That said, my career won’t be defined by how many runs I score in the IPL or the number of matches I play for India. It’s the consistency that I am aiming for and the selectors should understand that”.

It is always disappointing for a player to not get the chances he deserves. Tiwary will need to come up with eye-catching performances in the domestic circuit to get back into contention for a big event like the Indian Premier League. Tiwary revealed the two goals he had since he started playing the game.
Ever since I started playing cricket, I have dreamt of only two things – playing for India and winning the Ranji Trophy for Bengal. So next season, if they retain me as the skipper, then as the captain otherwise as a player, I want to win the silverware. There’s so much negativity around me. I always get the vibe that people are just waiting for me to fail so that they can start pointing fingers at me.
Manoj Tiwary played 12 One Day Internationals for the Indian team in which he scored 287 runs. The right-hander also played three T20Is in which he scored 15 runs in one inning.
