I Never Considered Myself A Bowler – Virender Sehwag
As Ramiz Raja said, Virender Sehwag is the king of entertainment irrespective of the format of the game. The swashbuckling opening batsman has made Test cricket look so interesting with his masterful batting against the world-class bowlers in tough conditions. Apart from his style of play, Sehwag is well-known for his bold statements on the current issues.
Turning the clock back, the opening batsman once quoted Ravichandran Ashwin that he never consider spinners as the bowlers. It was revealed by Ashwin in a famous talk show, which instantly went viral on social media for Sehwag’s demoralising effect on Ashwin.

Ravichandran Ashwin, in the show, explained that Sehwag has always smashed him for boundaries even after trying certain plans to him. He was never successful against Sehwag something which Ashwin couldn’t hold himself and wanted to take some tips for the improvement from him.

To Ashwin, Viru said ‘You know what, I don’t think off-spinners are bowlers. They do not trouble me at all. I just find it easy smashing them’. I said ‘Sir you are cutting me’. He said, ‘Yeah, I hit off-spinners against the spin on the off side and for left-arm spinners, I will hit against the spin on the leg side.
Meanwhile, one of the fans asked Virender Sehwag the logic behind being an off-spinner despite feeling that the off-spinner doesn’t belong to bowler category. To which, Sehwag replied that he never considered himself a bowler.
