After rehabbing a long knee injury, Pakistan’s star bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi is all set to make a return with the T20 World Cup less than two weeks away. The 22-year-old pacer sustained the injury just before the start of the Asia Cup 2022.
Shaheen is likely to play his first match for Pakistan since injury-return in the tri-series which begins from Friday onwards in Christchurch. However, prior to his comeback, the left-arm pacer issued a stern warning to Pakistan’s T20 World Cup opponents with a cryptic four-word tweet.
Shaheen Afridi is likely to feature in the series opener against Bangladesh
The Men in Green has reached New Zealand to participate in the T20I tri-series involving hosts New Zealand and neighbours Bangladesh. Shaheen is also a part of the squad and is likely to feature in the first match of the series slated between Pakistan and Bangladesh on Friday. The series will be crucial for Afridi to perform well and get into his rhythm before the World Cup.
The left-arm fast bowler posted a photo of himself on Twitter before the match against Bangladesh and captioned it “Calm before the storm.” With the cryptic tweet, Shaheen Afridi has made his intentions clear that he would be giving his absolute best in the upcoming matches for Pakistan.
