Former England batsman Kevin Pietersen stated that English captain Eoin Morgan looked scared when he came out to bat against Australia. Hence, Pietersen said it is a horrible sign for England. Morgan came out to bat early than he would have imagined as England lost two early wickets. The southpaw batsman could only score four runs before he was bounced out by Australia???s pack leader Mitchell Starc.
Starc bowled a bouncer to Morgan and the England captain could not control his hook shot. The left-hander got a top edge and Pat Cummins took a good catch at fine leg while diving to his left.
Morgan had scored a scintillating knock of 148 runs off just 71 balls against Afghanistan. The left-hander was at his best as he made the world record of 17 sixes in an innings. Morgan has thus far scored 274 runs in the six innings at an average of 45.67 and at a staggering strike rate of 122.32. Hence, Morgan has scored quick runs for England but could not deliver the goods against Australia.
Meanwhile, Australia defeated England by 64 runs as they came up with a complete performance. Australia had posted a fighting score of 285 runs after England skipper Eoin Morgan won the toss and decided to bowl first.
Aaron Finch continued his sublime form going as he scored a brilliant hundred. Finch was at his best and added 123 runs with David Warner. On the other hand, David Warner scored a good knock of 53 runs. Thus, Warner has completed 500 runs in the ongoing tournament.
On the other hand, Jason Behrendorff scalped a five-wicket haul to restrict England to 221 runs. Furthermore, Mitchell Starc scalped four wickets and bowled a sublime yorker to get rid of Ben Stokes ??? who was England???s leading run-scorer with 89 runs.
