Australia opener David Warner has made a resounding comeback from a one-year suspension to the international circuit. He has been in great form with the bat in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2019 and has led the batting unit alongside skipper Aaron Finch. Apart from tackling the bowlers, Warner had to overcome the boos from the England fans in the road to the comeback. But the southpaw didn’t seem concerned about it and said that he thrives on that.

David Warner has successfully tackled the jeering and is currently the highest scorer of the tournament. The southpaw has amassed 500 runs from seven games at an average of 83.33 including a personal best of 166 runs which is also the highest score of the tournament thus far. Warner’s partnership along with Finch at the top of the batting order has been the highlight of Australia’s dominant run.

As Warner looks to keep his swashbuckling form going in the upcoming matches, the southpaw has finally opened up over the crowd jeering him during the World Cup matches. David Warner said that the fans pay the money to come to the stadium and it is their right to do what they want. He also stated that the players are grateful that they come and watch the match.

At the end of the day people have the right to come in here, they pay their dollars and if they want to boo us they can,” Warner said. “As I said before, I thrive on that stuff. You have to smile, they pay their money to come and watch us and we are grateful for them to come and sit down and watch us. We try and put on a good show for everyone,” he added.

Furthermore, David Warner has had a rapid change in the last year as his teammates have described him as a new person. He is enjoying the training, having fun and revealed that you value things when it is taken away from you. He also said that going back to the roots helped him immensely.

“For me, it is about enjoying the game when it is taken away from you, you realise what it is all about,” Warner said. “Going back to grassroots was fantastic. You cant take that for granted. I am just grateful for the second opportunity to come back,” Warner concluded.
