Former West Indies skipper Clive Lloyd stated that he would pay to watch Virat Kohli in action. Kohli is the best batsman in the game and his records speak for himself. In fact, Kohli is the most consistent batsman in the World. However, Kohli could not deliver the goods in the semifinal against New Zealand as he was dismissed for only one run.

On the other hand, Rohit Sharma had a fine tournament. The talisman batsman scored five centuries in the single edition which is a new record. Furthermore, he is also the leading run-scorer of the tournament with 648 runs in the nine innings he played.

Kohli and Rohit are world-class batsmen.

Hence, the World Cup-winning captain Clive Lloyd said that he is happy to pay to watch Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in action. Both of these batsmen are flamboyant in their style of play and it is a treat for the spectators to watch them play.

“He’s a tremendous cricketer. I would pay my money to watch him. And Rohit Sharma too. Five hundred in a tournament is an excellent feat,” Lloyd told TOI.

Meanwhile, Clive Lloyd also named the three standout captain of the World Cup. The former skipper believes Virat Kohli, Aaron Finch and Kane Williamson have been the best captains of the World Cup.

“Kohli has done extremely well. Kane (Williamson) has done well. They’re two outstanding captains. We have (Aaron) Finch who had captaincy thrust upon

him. He’s done well. They’re quite a few good captains, but these three stands out,” Lloyd said

Meanwhile, India was knocked out of the World Cup as they were defeated by New Zealand by 18 runs. The Kiwis were able to put India under pressure as they took three early wickets to push India on the backfoot. India could not recover in their run-chase despite a valiant effort from Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni. Jadeja scored a blistering knock of 77 runs from 59 balls whereas Dhoni scored a fine fifty.
