Australia began their ICC World Cup 2019 campaign in style as they beat Afghanistan by seven wickets at the County Ground in Bristol. David Warner starred with the bat after Pat Cummins and Adam Zampa restricted the Afghans to a paltry score of 207 to take the Aussies to a comfortable victory. Meanwhile, during the course of the game, ICC badly trolled Afghanistan wicket-keeper Mohammad Shahzad; however, later deleted the tweet.

ICC badly trolls Shahzad

Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc wreck havoc after Afghanistan won the toss and elected to bat first. They removed Shahzad and Hazratullah Zazai in the first two overs to have Afghanistan at five for two. Since then, Rahmat Shah and Hasmatullah Shahidi tried to bail the innings adding a 51-run partnership. But once Zampa got Shahidi out, wickets tumbled at regular intervals. However, contributions from lower-order batsman Gulbadin Naib, Rashid Khan, and Najibullah Zadran helped them cross the 200-run mark. Zadran was the sole batsman to cross the 50-run mark while Cummins and Zampa returned with three wickets each.

Meanwhile, a 96-run opening partnership between David Warner and Aaron Finch set the tone for the run chase. Finch got out after scoring a half-century and Warner got a reprieve after Mohammad Shahzad missed an easy stumping, Australia cruise to victory with seven wickets in hand. Warner remained unbeaten on 89 runs to help the Aussies begin their title defence in style.

However, during the missed opportunity, Mohammad Shahzad lost his composure to create a funny posture. ICC, from his official twitter handle, savagely trolled the Afghanistan wicket-keeper, only to delete the tweet later. They posted a from the turn of events and wrote that the image belongs to the museum.
