ICC World Cup 2019: Mohammad Azharuddin Picks India's Playing XI

India’s former skipper Mohammad Azharuddin has picked team’s playing XI for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019. Azharuddin has picked Rishabh Pant in the playing XI at the number four position. Subsequently, he has dropped Ambati Rayudu from the final XI. Pant has impressed in the red ball version however the wicketkeeper-batsman is yet to make his mark in the white ball format.

Furthermore, there is no place for Dinesh Karthik in Mohammad Azharuddin’s playing XI. Karthik has done a great job in finishing the matches for the Indian team in the recent past. Meanwhile, the Tamil Nadu could not find his place in the ODI squad for the upcoming series against Australia. However, Karthik has found a place in the T20I squad for the two-match series.

On the other hand, Mohammad Azharuddin wants to pick either Yuzvendra Chahal or Kuldeep Yadav in his last XI. Both the spinners have been instrumental in the success of the team as they have provided the breakthroughs in the middle overs.

The former Indian skipper has picked three seamers in his playing XI which would be ideal according to English conditions. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami makes the cut into Azharuddin’s team.

On the other hand, India’s top three Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, and Virat Kohli has done the bulk of the scoring for the team. The top three batsmen have done a great job for the side and they must be at the top of their game for India to go all the way. Kedar Jadhav and Hardik Pandya are going to play the all-rounder’s role in the team.
